Westry's enormous talent and artistic genius emerged. He could be found sketching and scribbling on the walls of his grandmother's house to the constant sound of music. He was an inquisitive adventurer, exploring his surroundings seeing with the eyes of a true artist. His mannerisms were far beyond his years. He mastered the skillful art of Illustrating with uncanny speed. By the age of three his renderings had become so realistic that family and friends alike were amazed. They could hardly believe their eyes. This small child wielded the art of illustration as if an old soul. Everyone knew that D. Westry was gifted and blessed. From the days of pre-school in the early 70's to this present day, D.Westry (The Speed Art Man ) has always attracted an audience to witness his magnificent artistry. His fast pace art creations as a child prodigy quickly earned him his first title "The Little Artist." Through out his school days, D. Westry gain a great following of fans and admirers of his Speed Art. He would constantly challenge students to test his gift by making lines for him to create pictures from. In a matter of seconds, D. Westry would create many pictures from single lines. This entertaining demonstration is what he would eventually refer to as "Lines of Creation." After entering High school in 1987, he decided to enter the talent show using his famous "Speed Art" performance. D. Westry finished in 2 minutes, changing the traditional view of a talent show performer forever, winning first place awards in every competition he has entered. As a pioneering art performer and speaker of the performance art movement, for many years, D. Westry has revolutionized the lives of people with his articulation and mastery of creating larger than life art to music.
